Their online 'store' has been running for ages - it's a front for their Australian based wholesale business. They have been saying that they will open a store for over a year now (press releases on StereoNet). So it will be interesting to see if this shop goes ahead - especially as they have included 'Date may be subject to change' written on their banner ad...
The Auckland CBD and HiFi stores aren't known to be a great match, but hey, they wouldn't do it if they didn't think they knew better than I.

Shouldn’t be too bad a location, they sell mainly portable stuff so you can carry them back to your car at Britomart nearby.

How long has the "NZ" site been working (yes, a mirror of the Aus site but in NZ dollars)? Last time I checked they didn't ship to NZ They removed that Stereonet announcement not long after it was posted. There use to be a few in the CBD

The NZ site isn't a direct mirror of the Australian site (although they do share a lot of the framework and 'about us' info. They feature different product range on the .co.nz version, with a far smaller offering that seems to be made up of the products their parent company imports / distributes in NZ.
And yeah, there did used to be HiFi stores in the CBD, but like setting up a HiFi store in Ponsonby, trying to do the same in the middle of downtown Auckland seems to be a concept for those with a death wish! Whether or not Auckland has a HeadFi / commuter culture to support a targeted store like AA seems to be trying, well, it remains to be seen.

Thanks cartridge. I only looked at a few pages and they seemed to be the same, so wrongly assumed the line up would be the same. Hard for many hifi stores nowadays, no matter where they are. I hate going to the cbd, mainly because of parking.

The store has opened - has anyone braved the CBD to explore the new shop?
