Spectacular film-making, action, detail & some memorable sequences, but not deeply engaging for me. Some fine actors, but not much character development. The WWI sets are impressive in detailing & scale. The action sequences technically impressive. Maybe I would have been more involved if, for example, the cinematography had a less clean, modern & more 'vintage' hue & texture. YMMV

The acting, apart from Douglas, in Paths of Glory is appalling, so overacted. So much so that I had no affinity for the innocent who got immorally accused.
