In Whangarei yesterday and at the local Hospice op shop, found Wagner, Tristram and Isolde, on Decca label, made in France, SET 204-8, a five disc set.
Searched for a listing on discogs, but cannot find a listing for a made in France version. UK issues have the same numbers, SET 204-8. Early 1961 issues have six discs, with the 6th being an introduction to the opera, omitted in later reissues.
Anyone here have knowledge as to where this set fits in the catalogue? None of the listings in discogs show a cover. like the one I have - see photo.
Cannot find a date of issue anywhere on the labels or booklet (which is unhelpfully written in French, although the libretto is in both French and German), other than to say recorded in 1959 in the booklet.
