Looking for a modest dac to use in my lounge projector system taking coax from a HDMI splitter to the system consisting of vintage Marantz 1060 amp Kef Reference 102 speakers with the Kef Cube & Velodyne subs. Not really after wizz bang or hi-def just need it as an interface - what ya got?  

I'm gonna guess you don't want to spend $3-400 because you should just buy the Topping DAC talked about elswhere on this forum.

I have a Rotel RDP980 you can have for $70. Works fine however the top cover has had a poor quality respray (not by me), it must have been scratched as cosmetically it is ok otherwise.

I dug this out to test everything, had it running for half an hour, even managed to AB it with my new Topping DAC. Missing a little detail and bloated in the bass but it didn't disgrace itself however its just died on me. 😔

Powers up then shuts down after 5 or so seconds, sorry you'll have to keep looking.
