300 disc cd changer ? i'd be wary of it swallowing all my cds and not letting them out.

Laughs Luddites version of a music server? The inter island ferry requires a spare anchor?
In one of my systems it would be useful to have 300 (400 would be better)of the more played discs easily and quickly accessible I have never yet come across a music server that I would want to own (Well out of touch with modern servers but all the old ones would benefit from a frustration instigated strong impact from a 4lb hammer prior to being placed into a recycle bin) By the time a server has woken up and then you used a keyboard and screen to scroll through the various menus looking for the title one seeks the earth has rotated quite a few degrees on its axis. Then the mongrel thing will possibly malfunction. Guess servers will one day be ready for me - unfortunately the current machine/human interfaces are intolerably poor.
Properly reworked the D/A section of the little Sony creation can sound ok.

Try streaming on Tidal and having favorites in a playlist. My Windows 10 (Surface Go) computer starts up in about 10sec and is playing music by 20sec. I have had nightmares thinking about the mechanisms in multidisc cd changers I used to repair years ago!

Hi Colin Thank you for the advice. Last time I streamed the quality of the music (Recording/mastering) on my gear was intolerable for more than background music. I will give streaming another go when time permits.
An audio colleague streams a lot of his music and his system copes well and sounds fine with the stream.
I was somewhat concerned about the complexity of a multidisc player - my previous experiences with them has ended in frustration as they have all failed at some point in time. (My preference is to keep things simple - the current favoured player has no transport)
