reducedtolerance's 301 thread reminds me..... my son built a CNC machine & has been cutting speaker cabinets, among other things.... This one just a wee bluetooth desktop active spkr. I really need to get him onto my long-delayed Technics SP10 Plinth (Sorry, poor video quality.)

That's really impressive Owen, did he design the cabinets as well ?

That particular wee speaker, yes it was a scratch design/build & he did quite a bit of prototyping (however, no doubt informed by others who have done similar before)..... jeremyyoungdesign.com/2016/10/04/custom-bluetooth-speaker/In-built Li-ion battery with Bluetooth Audio Receiver Board and 2x15W Class-D Audio Amplifier - purchased off Aliexpress (China).

cool vid.
very important to suck up the swarf as michael fremer found out when he filmed some direct to disc cutting.

michaelw - I don't recall seeing that Fremer footage. Jeremy I think has finally found his calling in life, as a mechanical engineer, after a false start in his first career - a slow starter

Not CNC machining - but a tonearm-mount that he is making for me... (Raw machined aluminium....) (Bead-blasted & pocketed out underneath....)

I really like Nitin Sawhney's one Zero direct to disc release. Good to know @owen Y, that we all have access to a CNC on tap!

Did you guys spot in that Air Studios, that they were recording the soprano & orchestra in the church, with a 'Decca tree' setup?

Good to know @owen Y, that we all have access to a CNC on tap! Yes, trouble is, I'm running out of favours, I may have to start paying him soon haha

I created a new thread for this digression - in the Vinyl Records sub-board: darklantern.proboards.com/thread/150/Fremer's vid gives some rare close-ups into the recording control room - not only the D2D process.

Yes he's taking on small jobs to help pay his substantial bills! CNC & lathe/milling engineering work.
