Michael Lavorgna (former Editor of Audiostream before AVTech took over) reviews the NAD D 3020 V2 on his Twittering Machines site.
Designed by Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the designer of the original, legendary NAD 3020.
With the proviso of careful matching of the NAD's tonal warmth to loudspeakers, Lavorgna sums up:
" To my mind and ears, the 3020’s MM phono input really shines while its digital side shines as well, albeit less brightly. "
This inexpensive (US$399) little (58 x 186 x 219 mm) 'Digital DAC Amplifier' has been getting the thumbs up from various places, including What HiFi in July:
" If your search is solely based on a ‘performance-for-pound’ criteria, then Marantz (PM6006 US$510) is an equally compelling avenue for you to explore. But if you can find another amplifier with this many features, which is this easily accommodated, and sounds better for the money, then we’d love to know about it. "
