rmc001 - am I correct in thinking that this Allo USBridge box is a USB 'interface? It cleans up USB sources, removes noise, re-clocks(?), regulates/filters the power supply/s - so that your DAC can be connected nicely to noisy sources such as laptops, computers, RasberryPi or Allo's Sparky, etc?

I'm not very knowledgeable on it but I installed JPLAY Mini on a single laptop but it says you can install two copies of JPLAY Streamer - one on a control computer and the other on the audio computer - (connected by ethernet cable) the audio computer is also known as an endpoint - or, one of these devices. So been looking at modestly-priced end-points (maybe USB-powered) such as in this thread: community.roonlabs.com/t/best-low-budget-ethernet-usb-endpoint/39247/13

Actually first thing is to set up my phone as a remote - lol and I'm sure more software will need to go onto the 'puter to do that. 🙂

So I think JPLAY describe the control computer as what others call a server, as it has all the song tracks on it. Then as well as that you need a remote. But I might not need an end point. I might find the laptop satisfactory on its own for a while.

DARKO's review earlier this year, using a ALLO USBridge with a Raspberry Pi.... " The USBridge .....familiar albums constantly reminded me of its presence through a consistently more compelling (read: more emotive) listening experience. Ain’t that what good/better audio is all about? It is for me. "

DAGOGO reviews the Allo USBridge.... " Allo has something special here … so much so that manufacturers and designers of full-sized, full-full feature solutions costing exponentially more money should really take note. I cannot recommend highly enough the Allo USBridge digital audio transport for use with USB connected gear. At the price, your ears will NOT believe you... "
