although i was mid teens when i first heard her and can sing along with all the hits, the only recordings i have is one that came in a bulk buy i made when i was getting back into vinyl and a download. the 1st is titled "amazing grace" and was recorded live in '72 and is a full on gospel record. i have played it several times and it's playing now. the 2nd is a compilation called "aretha sings the blues". a collection from recordings in the early '60's released in 1980. it will be next.

rocl - that's great, 'Amazing Grace' is 90 mins of gospel church music & makes 2LPs on vinyl. It is a splendid live recording, made after Aretha had made he name in 'soul' & 'returned' to a Baptist church in LA to record this. I didn't realise that it was her biggest selling album, 2 million copies Double Platinum they say. My copy came via a poster on the old AudioEnz forum. Her vocal range is incredible in this recording.
