Impressive set of documentation. I could throw in this too, for a bargain price

Yeah.Even though I love my modded 2150b and have an SM3 packed up in the garage I wouldn't expect that amount for them both. Not sure about the tuner, never tried one.Prefer my Hitachi FT-5500/2.

$1k the lot Cheapskate! I reckon $2000 would be reasonable. I've always wanted a TU3 and have never seen an AM FM one, only FM, so not sure of its price.

Hes got serious interest in the tuner so at least he has the option of breaking them up if the 3k is not realised. It does seem on the high side for fairly old gear but there has been some recent service work and at least it was born here so if for any reason it got sick the hospital is close..!

My 2150B (which I bought for an multi box active system once) went for ~$1200 IIRC. And the SM3 for $300. (Many yrs ago.)

i pnce saw the results over driven bridged 2150b's into celestion sl6's. it was not pretty. the voicecoils were slag. far from being a cheapskate, $1k is about the sonic worth of this set.
from a historical perspective it wasn't this set that made p famous in the usa, it was the earlier sm2 preamp/2150b combo.

I went from the new SM2 to "passive" preamps and haven't gone back, years ago.
Bought an SM3 2 years ago for about $300,which cost another $200 to repair! PeterP said he was after it as well, but forgot to check on the sale.
My SL6s's are still alive Michael!Just in storage.Like the SM3.

Harry Pearson's 1982 review of SS amps praised the early versions of the PMF 2150, for its "amazing" bass. But lamented the "hardness" to the sound with the later addition of 'protection circuitry' to the amp design.

hp also reviewed the sm2, liking the high gain phono stage, lamenting a missing bottom octave.

OK, still sounds like $2000 is a good realistic price point to me.

Geez seems like everyone once owned an SM3 PMF2150b combo ? Me too, I was awfully impressed with the power when I was younger.....
