hahaha
briefly... there was a longer dissertation on the old audioenz forum but that has long gone ...
1. uk
2. emi100
3. nz
with a much bigger gap between uk and emi100 than emi100/nz

Most times (with the odd exception) I reckon that you can tell which is going to sound best, by looking at the groove pitch of the lacquer/stamper. ie the smallest run-out/dead wax width. Usually widest dynamic range.

agreed, though often the bad one is not the one you expect. some examples... nz vs mofi, pretty close but nz sounds much more natural nz vs mofi, huge difference in cutting, perhaps to optimise the sweet spot on the disc ? to no avail, another shitty sounding mofi finally, us vs eu of suzanne vega's last album, both bought from us sellers ! they look similar but the us sounds much better. eu has a nicer cover.
