Certainly looks to be jammed packed of integratedness but I reckon it would be a curse to keep dust from the mesh type frame work!

At least it's not all-black

all black was offered but i like silver (to match my phono). standard is silver body with black volume and source selector. mine is all silver.

So does this free up your Krell for the Blenheim Seagull ?

Possibly the pics do not do the paint-job justice - a slightly metallic silver powdercoat I imagine? The remote is fab.

it's a simple volume only remote with 3d printed cover. reminiscent of the old plinius remotes but pocket sized. i asked gary about the finish as it does look more silvery they use a new finisher now, the coating powder is the same but applied in two layers resulting in a smoother surface feel and silvery gleam. regular ONE

Power consumption in standby.....25 watts.
I just don’t get this aspect, carried over from their Plinius gear.
It’s just operating a relay which you can hear. That’s 0.05 to 1 watts in modern standards.
I leave my Plinius pre and power turned off because in standby they consume 110 ish watts.

Integrated amps becoming more common as more of the manufacturers are getting with the idea there is a slot in the market for such as item possibly? As long as they have enough grunt to drive a variety of speakers I think we will see more of them. Saves on cables and space. Im very pleased with my integrated.

i like integrateds too. many perform just as well, some even better than a pre-power setup.
25w standby power consumption is a small price to pay for instant good sound.
with the old plinius class a amps, if you turned them off they would sound awful from cold, needing a good week or two of warm up time before sounding good again.
out of the box the one sounded expansive with a huge soundstage, excellent spatial reproduction, bass the went down to the depths of the earth. there wasn't a lot of dimensionality and it all felt too taut, over controlled.
over the past week it has loosened up and filled out, sounding more organic and natural.
the heat output is noticeable, ac to the rescue !
my power bill gets a double hit this month.

25w standby power consumption is a small price to pay for instant good sound. Can’t say I ever heard much difference. Perhaps the power supply is live but the circuitry is off. just one of those quirky philosophys you have to put up with with one man bands.

nothing to do with one man band but more on the mechanics of class a operation.
which plinius do you have ?

Class A means that the power transistors (or tubes) are 'biased' at a higher current 'operating point'. ie. Their quiescent/standing/idling current is much greater (compared with Class AB or Class B) => more heat dissipated from the transistors/heatsinks. (Lower distortion but lower efficiency.) If the transistors are running, the PSU is running.

Power...who cares about the additional power. I remember having a Musical Fidelity A370 and when that that was going the rest of the block went onto half power...and went it went bang the shock waves could be felt in Nigeria!!

haha those old mf's were like ticking time bombs.
class a is not efficient as the output devices are running all the time, whether there is signal or not.
some designs try to mitigate this by switching to a more efficient mode when not reproducing music.
and like all things audio, a specific technology does not guarantee good sound.
of the old plinius designs, my favourites were the sa50 class a and the sb-300 class a/b amplifiers.

Hi everybody, Michael encouraged me to join, so here I am. Thanks for the posts Michael, and to others for questions and comments... Standby power... that needs to be revisited I think... its been improved recently. But as an explanation we leave all circuitry running all of the time except that in standby the output stage is set to a bare minimum current, just enough to keep the output devices conducting. This does make a difference... To Stuzzo who said "just one of those quirky philosophys you have to put up with with one man bands" I read that as a somewhat disdainful comment, which is a pity. Pureaudio is no one man band. Here in Wellington the two founders are Gary Morrison (myself) and Ross Stevens. We are both active in the product development and production processes as are a series of subcontracted suppliers in and around Wellington. In a wider sense we are supported by several dozen enthusiastic people running distribution of the brand in various international markets. Also in reponse to Stuzzo commenting "carried over from their Plinius gear." It is a long time ago that I sold out my share of Plinius and moved on, well over a decade. Pureaudio was an opportunity to move in new directions and our products have no connection at all with the work done at Plinius. We have moved far beyond that. To Owen... All black... well we have produced just a few of those recently. First as a special request from our Finnish distributor, next for Brigadiers Audio in Sydney who are our partners there, and thirdly one in due course destined for Soundline Wellington by request from them. The black looks fantastic. And on the remote handset... We were making these by 3D printing but more recently our metalwork partners have managed to create a solidly constructed all aluminium housing which we are now using. Any other questions, please ask.

Welcome garym All silver looks great and I can imagine that all black would look stunning too. Even the black and silver looks ok.

Welcome garym - and thanks for clarifying things. Would love to see a pic of all-black finish when you have a moment. And/or any other colour options. (PS. If of interest, we could set up a PureAudio thread so that any Qs about PureAudio generally can be addressed there.)
