Cream, Fresh Cream mono version from most recent box set. I find the stereo mastering of Fresh Cream pretty hit and miss much prefer the mono which puts some serious heft into Ginger Bakers drumming.

The Third Mind, self titled album. My only purchase of new music for 2020. Worth a listen if you have a taste for Happy Trails era Quicksilver Messenger Service , 13th Floor Elevators and a touch of Fred Neil folk .
Nice side project led by Americana star Dave Alvin and interesting to see Michael Jerome from the Richard Thompson trio on drums.

What the label(Yep Roc) call the first edition is the one to go for as it has two bonus versions of East West. This makes the vinyl a double set. yeproc.11spot.com/music/artists/the-third-mind/the-third-mind-first-edition.html

The joy of having a wet windy day. 4 Ticks there ... I picked up a Whites off Earth in Canada and got hooked on the rolling dark sound. I subsequently shelled out for the MFSL it has joined the ranks reserved for " lights out, high volume and few single malts". ..and and I have also joined the queue for Third Mind ... thanks for that. I do like a bit of Dave Alvin now and then. .. and no, it isn't dark rolling.

Dave Alvin gets a lot of airtime here. The MFSL of Blackjack David is a real treat and I believe all analogue. The Third Mind is such a departure from his usual fare.

Bedtime headphones, Pentangle-, Solomon's Seal, another from The Album's cd box.
One of my favourite tracks although I'm more familiar with the version from Anne Briggs. Fairport Convention reworked the music with new lyrics into Farewell Farewell on Leigh and Lief.

todays selection
Jon Dee Graham & The Fighting Cocks .. "its not as bad as it looks" The first side of this LP is particularly excellent.
Terry Reid .. "the Driver" Shoulda conquered the world ... a bit hard to find on vinyl but sounds great.
Allen Toussaint . "the Bright Mississippi" .. anything produced by Joe Henry is going to sound good.

Terry Reid is a name that keeps cropping up in missed opportunities. Was in the mix as vocalist for Led Zeppelin according to numerous writers. I have a NZ Best Off from 1971 that I will give a spin later and the Superlungs cd best off around late 60s era.

Unfortunately my vinyl copy of The Most Of Terry Reid sounds like it has some groove degeneration from previous owner. Bit of distortion in places. This was one of a bunch of lps I stumbled on at the opening of our local Cash Convertors over twenty years ago. At $1 each I cant complain too much as there was some good scores in the collection, all from the same owner. Rounded out the afternoon with some Hendrix . Neil Young and Six Organs of Admittance.
Tonight's bedtime , Sparklehorse, It's a wonderful Life. Cd version.

Terry Reids "the River" has been reissued a couple of years back. I have both the reissue and an original. Another of those much critically acclaimed but "you had to be there" albums imo.
