Ry Cooder, i Flathead. Owned many years and not previously listened to. Very good, catchy tunes. Enjoyed. Ry Cooder's Score to Tresspass is out on vinyl I think for the first time later this month. But I can't find anyone local selling/preordering it yet. Not even Amazon.
Got a copy of Trespass from Rarewaves
Box arrived looking very banana like
The sleeve was banana'd and sporting several bad creases.
The record was similarly deformed.
To their credit Rarewaves are sending a replacement.
the horror !!!

the packing was so feeble it wouldn't have survived across town let alone to the other side of the world.

I ordered about half a dozen records. Hope they're all in one box. But I fear they may not be as I got separate emails for each one that they had shipped.

Santana, self titled mobile fidelity double. Santana, Abraxas mobile fidelity Lps like these could almost convince me to keep my vinyl. Was gobsmacked seeing Santana on the big screen at a viewing of Woodstock in 1970 (?) . Been a fan of their first four records since then.

Jethro Tull, This Was 50th anniversary release of Tull's first album and another in the excellent Tull reissue series. As usual heaps of extras, Steven Wilson remix, transfers of original Uk and USA records, stereo and mono versions and hi-res(96/24) content on dvd-a. Also comes with a comprehensive 96 page book with deep diving detail on the band's early days.

As promised Michael. It seems I had a bit of a MoFi addiction for awhile and was buying both the vinyl and SACD releases for some favourite titles. Apologies for the poor photos. Camera is dead so back to crap cell phone.

While I was at it a few more MoFi releases I rest my case: Mr Cooksferry, the completist... (and these are just some of his MoFi's, not to mention other original copies...tut, tut!!)

Thanks for the photos Is the Tull a recent release ? DVD-Audio This Was is a 2018 release. www.discogs.com/Jethro-Tull-This-Was-The-50th-Anniversary-Edition/release/12779922Starting back around 2011 with the 40th anniversary Aqualung (the big set in the photo) Tull's anniversary series have all run along similar lines and format with at least 4 discs of audio and visual in some cases. The big 40th is the only one with a blue ray disc, all the rest use DVD for both formats. There's always a remix/remaster by Steven Wilson along with flat transfers of original versions. There was a reissue of the Aqualung set called the adaptive release as I believe there was some problem with the surround sound and some obsessives and Steven Wilson fan boys threw their toys as some parts of the set were mastered by Peter Mew and not their hero. Except for Thick as a Brick all the releases have usually four or five discs in the set. I sort of lost track of JT around Aqualung but this series rekindled my interest and I mainly used All Music Guide as a reference source as to which of the later releases were worth getting so some have been bypassed. The only one I'm waiting on now is Benefit which came early on in the reissues and wasn't in the now familiar book format. I believe that this is now due soon. Tull definitely still have a strong fan base as many of these reissues have sold out fairly quickly and prices are now rising. Interesting to see that the smaller adaptive version of Aqualung is now more expensive than the more comprehensive original. www.discogs.com/Jethro-Tull-Aqualung/release/3204552www.discogs.com/Jethro-Tull-Aqualung-40th-Anniversary-Adapted-Edition/release/8427017

Sorry Foveaux but I think that may be it for the MoFi selection. The gent who runs the record/hifi shop in Napier told me he has every Mobile Fidelity release stretching back to the 1980s. A lot of the fun in getting my small selection was in the hunt to finding what I considered a good price so they were sourced all over the place, several from Amazon Canada.

Tim Bowness-Samuel Smiles, Live Archive Vol2. Live performance direct to cdr by Samuel Smiles, a sometime project from Tim Bowness who has achieved some more recent success with his solo releases and his duo work with Steven Wilson as No Man.
I do find Bowness's vocals and ruminations on love and life engaging night time listening.
