Was it the NZ version of the Blind Faith album that had a different cover ? according to Discogs there were at least two NZ versions in 1969, one with the girl cover and one with the band shot. From memory my copy was the band shot. It never occurred to me that that the girl shot was pornographic until it was pointed out to me on another forum a few years back. In the eye of the beholder I guess .

They must have algorithms searching for bare flesh tones with breasts areolae nipples, likely pattern matching.
Oh well! We live and learn. ;=})
Totally ridiculous of Proboards. But hey, its their free site for us to use, so I guess we need to play by their rules. And RdM are you trying to get another strike by using terms b*&^%$s a#@$%^e n^&$#@s!, which are probably banned words too? lol

Hmmm...might be changing my call-sign soon? (sufficiently obscure?... ) You could just say it’s the inverse of the “mute” record label logo.

I guess that counts out Houses of the Holy as well. Let's see ... how or not or how quickly a purported algorithm might find that objectionable.
Cheers !!

Yesterday first time in a month or more went and played some lps.
A few tracks from the Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness box set and pleased to see the Wand arm had no problem tracking the final tracks on lp 1 (US version) which are cut almost to the edge of the label. Plenty of bitching about this when the box came out. The EU version(which I also had at one time) isn't cut so far across.
The Sex Pistols, Never Mind the Bollocks, early NZ pressings. Haven't played this in many, many years and I swear it sounded better on my old Akai deck thirty years ago. Maybe i need a cheap MM cart for certain occasions .
Rounded out the session on a very positive note with a bit of Richard and Linda Thompson, Shoot Out The Lights. Eagerly waiting my copy of their Hard Luck Stories box set due for release next week. I have three vinyl copies of this one, NZ and UK original pressings and the one I played, the 2018 reissue from Rhino Records. This was cut by Chris Bellman who usually can be relied on to do a good job. Great sound, clean, clear with some micro details popping up that sounded fresh to me. Particularly struck by Linda's vocals on the track, Just The Motion. Stopped me dead and a good case for me revisiting my opinion of her vocals. I've been under estimating her I fear. The song writing and playing well up to RTs usual standard. The sound on this YT clip is a shadow of the quality via the Wand/Hana ML combo.

My Able Tasmans is the reissue. Original would be worth good $s now I suspect. And cooks speaking of punk: was out at a clients house last week and we got to talking about Crass which were an anarcho punk band from back in the day that he used to listen to.He had all their albums, I had Christ the album which I bought on import back in the day (remember the import bins at record stores ?)and which I think I played once and filed as unlistenable... Anyhow Some years ago I had also icked up a box of Lps which had what I thought was a Crass album in it. Turned out to be four different albums, after consulting with my client as to what I had it turns out I had their first 2 albums plus a live album plus an album of other bands they recorded on their label. He then recommended me to play their first album "feeding of the 5000" which was reckoned by the punks at the time to be their best. Suprise: Its not bad actually in a very first generation punk sort of way. (mine is actually the second sitting version on crass own label, apparently the first version doesnt contain the song asylum as the record pressing workers refused to press it as it contained blasphemy... And yes I would recommend a cartridge with a spherical stylus for playing these sorts of albums. I used a Stanton 681 which I am quite enamoured of atm, but the new Goldring E1 is a cracker and its cheap.
Crass album covers has quite a unique aesthetic btw being black and white drawings that are actually a poster folded up. They all have a pay no more than price on the cover which was a real punk thing at the time and which has made their albums very collectable apparently.

MAKI ASAKAWA - Japanese jazz, blues singer composer (1942 to 2010) 2xLP Compilation. This turned up today, and I had long forgotten about it. Not even totally sure how I was put onto this one, bt glad I was! "Maki Asakawa, who died in 2010, was one of Japan’s finest singers. She had a cool, spine-tingling voice and a unique style influenced by black American music that ranged from pained blues ballads to R&B."Reasonably diverse, including jazz classics, blues spirituals and even a Hare Krishna chant - all sung in Japanese.

Currently under investigation by the FBI regarding explicit photos sent to underage fans. So maybe his next album will be live from Folsom prison ? That was in Feb of 2019. Haven't heard of any conclusions since then. Of course hope its not true. But then that brings up the whole dilemma, do you support/buy/boycott an artist that is flawed?

Bedroom system, nighttime favourites on cd.. The Handsome Family, Through the Trees. Johnny Dowd, The Pawnbrokers Wife. Vic chesnutt & Lamb chop, the Salesman and Bernadette.
The Chesnutt/Lambchop set apparently limited on lp and getting expensive. Don't think I've ever played my copy and it's been some time since the cd has had an airing. Might make this alt country (in the broadest sense)month. That's a genre that covers many bases. Time for some modern twang.
