The Third Mind- Dave Alvin and friends abandon Americana and head back to 1967 with more than a nod to John Cippolina and Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Luke Hurley on vinyl after many many years. HAPPY ISLES, Holiday Records pressing First spin, first impression? Very well recorded/mastered, instantly came alive, crystal clear and full of body. A nice upfront presentation. A sonic triumph! Musically, Luke hasn't strayed far from his roots and this will sound very familiar to his fans. Would have liked a bit more contrast and more quieter, contemplative parts. But perhaps that's just my current mood... Reworking of Albatross is excellent. Highly recommended, from a long time, highly biased Hurley supporter. lukehurley.bandcamp.com/album/happy-islesReview by Graham Reid www.elsewhere.co.nz/music/9309/luke-hurley-happy-isles-lukehurleyconz/

Cream-Goodbye Tour 1968, 4cd set.
sounding a bit different to the familiar Winterland version. Still think it's Clapton's finest moment.

Digging through some Baroque, starting with Vivaldi. He was genius. I never get tired of The Four Seasons. His music for strings, has it all - taut, energetic, melodic, interplay, pretty, melancholic, powerful....

Well spotted foveauxI think this is one of his better albums but didn't recognise that small pictorial snippet of the album cover.

Sorry All, The Fairport Convention link above has crashed/prohibited entry (worked initially). I put this link up for their song from the album: "Good Time for a Fiddle and Bow / The Christmas Eve Reel" as it's not up on UToob yet Try your usual other sources to enjoy this one!
