Or not, as a quick search would suggest that the MFSL Abraxas is long gone.
Re Fleet Foxes: I've only got the downloaded version burnt onto a CD from a mate that I bought the vinyl for. There's a glassiness on the vocals that I'm finding objectionable: Is this the rip or as I'm suspecting the use of pro tools in the mastering and recording ?

It sat in store for months, if not years, before I broke down and gave it a home.

was that a regular mofi or one-step ? Regular. My ears are golden enough to deserve the pleasures of the one step process.

Bought a 2012 reissue of Abraxas, MOVLP595, new from JB Hifi about a month ago. On Columbia label, but says manufactured for Sony by Music on Vinyl. Made in EU. Sounds great, flat, clean, silent surface. Cost $35.

Hi Sub,
MOV are digital transfers: might as well buy the CD and be done with it. Will keep an eye out for an early US pressing or mofi.

I've found MOV to be on a whole pretty good with their releases, whatever the source. To their credit they are completely transparent on that score. I've always found an email to them regarding source gets a fairly prompt reply. I know that at least two releases that were digitally sourced get excellent reviews, Dylan's Time Out of Mind and Lucinda Williams Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.
From their site Which masters do you use? We use the best audio available to cut our records. We receive and use different kinds of masters: analogue tapes, original metal parts, lacquers cut from analogue tapes and high res digital files 192/96khz/24 bit. Music On Vinyl does not use CD's as masters.

Havent got either of those LP's so cant really comment. MOV I've heard are pretty meh, pressings seem fine, but digital transfers seem to lack something. Only common reissue labels I generally bother with are 4MWB, Sundazed and back to black: most of which are digitally sourced as well but somehow they seem to do a better job of it. In general terms I try to find as nice an original copy as I can, which is sometimes easier said than done. No longer bother with MOV at all.
Just picked up a Gene Clark double LP on the Sierra label which has exceptional sound quality. Lost sessions 1964 to 1982 IIRC.

Speaking of soundtracks, one of the nicest, on TV tonight.... We used to listen to this particular track often, in darkness in my pal's listening room, on multiple Sawafuji panel spkrs driven by an Ecofan EL34 amp, fed from a Theta DAC & Onkyo CDP as transport. Mostly dialogue, until Ry Cooder comes in quietly. Another favourite track:

So much beauty and cruelty in Strange Fruit. Gets me everytime.

Very nasty, dark chapter/s of American history.

Unfortunately, with Trump, although not as life threatening, I think it is also heading towards another dark time...

Unfortunately, with Trump, although not as life threatening, I think it is also heading towards another dark time... Far too stupid and self serving to pose any real threat to anything much beyond the Neo liberal ideals he holds so dear... Cheer yourself up... Lissena dis... Possibly the best thing to come out of England since the Beatles and/or the 'squidgee' tapes...

the last couple of days Richard Thompson-Rarities and Acoustic Classics Vol II 88.2 kHz/24 bit download while waiting on the physical signed 3xlp. Richard Thompson- When the Spell is Broken, promo 12" vinyl. One of my fav Thompson tks, studio and live version.
Vic Chesnutt-Ghetto Bells 2xlp reissue and the last in the series. Glad I went for the complete set, nicely done. GBs tops my Chesnutt list with a nice little backing unit including Bill Frisell and Van Dyke Parks. Who else would do a track like Rambunctious Clouds.
Welch and Rawlings- The Harrow and the Harvest. Great sounding vinyl, grab it while its around . Everything about this release spells class. Tim Buckley- Goodbye and Hello, mono reissue Rhino Summer of Love series. Not my favourite TB release and I think that I prefer the sound on my two stereo copies. Now if some one other than 4MWB would do Blue Afternoon and Happy Sad they'd have my money in a flash.

Re Tim Buckley,
Only album of his early stuff I have is a live double LP from London in 1968. Cracking version of buzzin fly, but the rest of it is a bit ho hum IMO. Good recording and pressing though. Also have greetings from LA as a NZ pressing, which is an album I really like.

Correction with Mats Gustafsson - SHIFT Mats Gustafsson - baritone sax Sebastian Bergström - piano Joacim Nyberg - bass Emil Åstrand-Melin - drums This has all the elements of free jazz that I adore. Attack, variation and poise. Love it!
