Forgot about Cale, Cash and Cars too! Captain (and Tennille or Beefheart)?
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Laurie Anderson -Talk Normal: The Laurie Anderson Anthology. 2cd
I was familiar with O Superman thanks to Radio With Pictures but I'm pretty sure that it was Foveaux who encouraged me to dig deeper. 😄👍

Or Hannah Everibgham.

But just to be sure, you need this refresh:
(Think this track missed the Anthology, surprisingly! memorable lyric too)
"I see music as a lifetime affair." [Rory Gallagher]
"Free - I miss that band, but when I look back, we were very young" [Paul Rodgers]

A friend just sent me this link, which he reckons may not last – just posted Aug 1st. I’ve just started watching it. It starts off with an absolutely smoky drinky atmosphere. Almost everyone in the audience is smoking and drinking. Black and white. Seems contemporary. Only the accordion player is wearing a mask. It sounds great! Shadow Kingdom: The Early Songs of Bob Dylan (full stream) _ This Bob Dylan "concert" was a special streaming event that took place in July of 2021. It's not available for purchase anymore. If that ever changes, I will take the video down. No copyright infringement is intended. Set List: When I Paint My Masterpiece Most Likely You Go Your Way (and I'll Go Mine) Queen Jane Approximately I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight Just Like Tom Thumb’s Blues Tombstone Blues To Be Alone with You What Was It You Wanted Forever Young Pledging My Time Wicked Messenger Watching the River Flow It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue All Along the Watchtower (closing instrumental) _ Enjoy! Wow, thanks for sharing! Sounds like a captivating atmosphere. I'll definitely check it out before it disappears. The contrast with the accordion player wearing a mask adds an interesting twist. Bob Dylan's early songs are timeless, so I'm sure it's a treat to hear them in this setting.

Bob Dylan's early songs are timeless, so I'm sure it's a treat to hear them in this setting. The YouTube video link was taken down within a day, somebody had uploaded it after paying the subscription fee. I managed to download it in that time, but was perplexed for a year that there was no audio. Then I found I had a separate audio track. I learned how to use ffmpeg to merge them. Then uploaded to Sendvid shared to a few friends, with a caveat not to share too much, maybe breach of copyright? But now, if the full high quality version is finally available, I don't think there's any harm in sharing this composite now. Video is better than DVD, sound is still compressed. Hence I'd like to see and hear a full, maybe Blu Ray version with HiFi sound. (I don't even yet own a Blu Ray player!) ;=}) I had the idea of combining CD audio with the video, haven't got around to it. I'd be happy to buy an official release. There are some great songs and story tellings in this album. sendvid.com/0hfxlbd7Enjoy! There's also a single official YouTube release of Forever Young on YouTube. Quite lovely. I think I might like it to be played at my funeral ;-) Regards to all ;=})

The ambiance you're describing sounds incredibly atmospheric, almost like stepping into a noir film set in a modern-day club. The contrast of the black-and-white visuals with the contemporary setting adds an intriguing dimension to the scene.

Must've been just over 40 years ago now that Bryan Adams played at Western Springs with The Police on their Synchronicity tour. My sister stalked Bryan to his hotel room and got a pic with him. She sent me a copy of the pic but wanted her face obscured. I think she's wearing a Duran Duran T shirt?

Vic Chesnutt day Currently Ghetto Bells via my trusty Fiio X5 to Grado PS1000.
Next up Silver Lake.
Wish I had the courage to change the ridiculous cable on the Grados. Might have to look at modifications to a Beautiful Audio adapter . Definitely not game to try and pry the drivers out of their housing.

I love Vic Chesnutt, but man he can be depressing! Takuya Kuroda – Rising Son, 2xLP Soul jazz, with funky afro beats? An intensely accessible listen. Jose James' influence is apparent.

I love Vic Chesnutt, but man he can be depressing! Never thought of him as being depressing, certainly not in the same frame as Jason Molina or late period Townes Van Zandt. I do seem to have a liking for those who don't see sunshine and lollipops everywhere.
