One of each currently listed on TM.
Are they up to the standards of the 8150/8200? If so, what model would offer the best quality?
Tempted by the 9200 as has built in phono, and i read somewhere that the phono was almost identical to the Jarrah (without the internal jumpers of course). Anyone know if that is correct?

hi,
yes, if anything the newer 9100/9200 sound better and have the new curvy look.
9200 would be my pick.
don't remember if the 9200's phono is similar to the jarrah - the m12/16 preamp was. looking at the 9200 specs - probably.
in the 9200 it has fixed 47k loading and two gain settings - 54db and 61db.
not ideal for high output cartridges.
just looked at the 9200 on tm - that price is a bit steep !

just looked at the 9200 on tm - that price is a bit steep ! I was wondering about that - the only comparison I found was a 9200 listed for sale on a USA website for the equivalent of $2333NZ, to which would be added bank charges for transfer of funds, packing and postage, and then cost of conversion to 240V power supply, The TM asking price of $2500 seems ok in comparison to that. However, will watch both with interest.

update... the integrated phono stages are not related to the jarrah but are much more simpler devices. also the 8200 is preferred for its musicality over the slightly hi-fi nature of the 9200. further ... while the 9200 boosted more power, the power supply wasn't beefed up to match haha

I really like my 8150 but couldn't tolerate the 9200 - way too clinical for my taste.

Thanks guys, will scrub that one off my list. I'll wait for an 8150/8200 to come up, or maybe send my 2100i off to Gary for refurbishing - he was advertising that service on the old AE forum.
