i concur with you guys, those speakers are too far apart which would contribute to the diffuse and dull sound. someone got screwed for $1m ?

Yes & no... My initial thoughts too. But horns usually need distance from the listener, in order to integrate. So, if you are listening at 6.3m away (as in this case), you'd probably need the mid horns to be 3m+ apart maybe. (My horns are at 4.0m distance & ~2.1m apart.) Of more concern perhaps is that the bass units appear to be located close to an even fraction of room width away from side walls (not good to minimise room standing waves). I'd be placing them at say 1/5 room width (1.36m) & thus end up with mid drivers ~3.0m apart. (It's easy to be critical from afar )

I'm glad I checked in and found this. Quite a while back sennh released a more affordable ambeo headset/mic and JA started recording some of the sounds he found. So it's great that this young lady has carried on with it. I pondered on doing this with my own system and recording my favourites so that I could playback on the phone/headphones. Will take a listen. Thanks again, Owen.
Ps:had a listen to the expensive system and it was very airy. Then I remembered reading about binaural recordings to be better heard on in-ear phones. Whoops. Still airy but better. If you have some in-ears, then probably worth taking another look.
