What Hi-Fi reports:

Announced last week by German company Ballfinger, together with a new Reel-to-Reel tape machine.

Direct Drive TT with radial (linear/tangential) tracking tonearm, but motor driven I believe.
(Goldmund did something similar 30 yrs ago. So too the Japanese Technics & Mitsubishi linear trackers.)
The tonearm is pivoted, but tracks linearly.
Not so keen on the complexity of mtr-driven tracking, but I like the long arm (which should minimise 'warp-wow'.)
And I think they are right about "the skating force is much more important: it is the main cause of most signal distortions".
Price?
Their product portfolio includes also Swiss mechanical caliber wrist watches (michaelw r u there?).
Bauhaus/modernist/industrial aesthetic.
We've seen 'design' oriented companies targeting the audio and/or vinyl record playing sector recently...
